Jessica ElixIt’s a buzz phrase that is a bit overused: Self-care. I have 3 kids, 2 businesses, and 1 husband (yes, just the 1). People ask me, “What are you doing to take care of yourself?”. My answer? I stay present in the chaos and do my best to take life’s ups and downs in strides. For me, my daily self-care oftentimes resides in my ability to stay mindful and present. I take deep breaths, notice my emotions and feelings, and lean into whatever those are. They’ll pass. When I feel my emotional bank account drawing on empty, I know it’s time to get out for an extra-long walk, indulge in a favorite ice cream, or spend some time sitting in the still quiet moments when those appear. Recognizing my needs for self-care not only takes care of me, but it also allows me to be a more present mom, business owner, wife, and so on.

So, I ask you: “What is something that you do daily to take care of your needs?”

Best Regards,
