Hello! Whew! Back to school is complete, and I'm getting [...]
I got up this morning - extra early because the dogs don't understand the time change - and there was a blanket of fresh snow. My morning was absolutely ruined. (No, not really of course.) My morning routine of getting up, taking my 6-month old pup for a walk, and then having my coffee + quiet time needing adjusting. It was icy, snowy, and chilly. And, I was resistant to that change because I wanted things my way on Monday, the way I've designed. I desired the consistency today. And, I didn't get my desires met.
From the outside, we see each other as managing humans. Juggling our way through life. But when we have the invisible balls added in to our mix, we are furiously trying to stay afloat - arms and hands waving, hyper focusing, and dropping some of the typical balls, because the heavy ones need more of us mentally and emotionally.
As many adult come into midlife, there's a realization that what worked in the first half of life isn't working for now. Hence during the middle of life. This normally occurs somewhere in the 4th decade (give/take).
Whether youโre in active parenting years, or working on parenting your inner child, there is something freeing about having a routine. Hereโs are some reasons why, and how, to incorporate routine into your life for successful transitions.
